PUHSD Graduation Requirements

At PHS all students are given the opportunity to earn their high school diploma by completing the following requirements:

225 Credits which consist of the
following:

(40) 4 years of English
(30) 3 years of Math (Alg 1
required)
(30) 3 years of Science
(Life/Physical)
(10) 1 year of World History
(10) 1 year of US History
(5) 1 semester of Government
(5) 1 semester of Economics
(20) 2 years of Physical Education
(10) 1 year of a Fine Art
(10) 1 year of a Foreign Language
Electives that accumulate to 55 credits.

FAFSA/CADAA Completion – All seniors must complete their financial aid application as part of the graduation guidelines.

Counselors meet with students routinely to go over their four year plan and all graduation requirements.

Minimum A-G Requirements

All PHS Students are given the opportunity to be A-G eligible so they can attend a four-year university.

To be certified, a student must complete the following A-G minimum requirements:

A – History/Social Science – Two Years
B – English – Four Years
C – Mathematics – Three Years
D – Science – Two years
E – Foreign Language – Two Years
F – Visual/Performing Arts – One Year
G – College Prep Elective – One year

Meeting these requirements allow PHS students be eligible to apply to a four year university.
